Each time I hear that there is another toy recall, I think to myself - you have got to be kidding! How can these dangerous toys even get to the shelves and at your fingertips in our curious children to begin with? Did the manufacturers understand that these were possibly damaging? Are there quality control measures to make sure this does not happen?
Personally, i know a sweet lady who's a parent of three little girls. When I was visiting together with her eventually, I noticed images of just a little boy around the walls and asked who it had been. She explained it had been her son who'd died at age three whenever a toy got stuck in his throat. His father had tried desperately to get rid of the lodged toy, but his attempts were fruitless, and the child succumbed. I had been horrified and may only imagine just how much both of them experienced this sad experience.

It is not easy to watch our children every minute, but we are able to make every make an effort to remove any toys that may do harm from those that they have fun with every single day. Your kids also may receive toys as presents from well-meaning members of the family and friends for birthdays and holidays. How will you be sure that the toys you have in your house are safe for your kids?

Another suggestion would be to focus on age recommendations on toys. They're put on the packages for any reason. You may think your son or daughter now has wrinkles enough to experience with a toy that's designed for an older child, but toys with small or removable parts may cause injuries or asphyxiation. Some older children also still prefer to put things in their nose, ears and mouths, so you are the most useful judge to know what is suitable for them.

If your toy is broken, it is best to dispose of it immediately. Be aware of what is inside your toy box. If tiny or broken bits of toys are present, clean them out.

If your child receives a toy as a present or you have purchased one which they wanted, you should try hard to break it (avoid them while watching child, however). If you're able to yank around the stuffed toys eyes and they're loose, they might appear and obtain lodged in the child's throat. Try to consider ways in which your son or daughter may use it and test to find out if the toy will break apart. You can also test all toy gifts since they were not given using the intention to harm the child. It is better safe than sorry.
